Free outbound PSTN calls through VoIP
There are lots of site that would offer you a free SIP phone number on which you can receive calls or make calls to other SIP numbers. But http://www.voipuser.org offers you free outbound PSTN calls to lots of countries...yes, free as in free chai (or free beer if you are reading it outside India ;)....
Have called relatives and friends in US, UK, Singapore and NZ. Voice quality is pretty decent. Though, there is a time delay sometimes.
Voipuser has this concept of community minutes. At the time of writing the community has 19,771 minutes in its pool. This figure keeps on increasing and decreasing. Also, there is a maximum limit of 10 minutes for outbound PSTN calls, which, I would say, makes good sense to me.
I use X-lite client for using voipuser's service.
Other things at voipuser are getting free UK's phone numbers which can be received at you SIP phone and even on your local PSTN/GSM phones.
Give it a try if you haven't.
